Wireless Internet Connectivity Issues

G'DaY Everyone,

My problem started a long time ago and it's just built up to the point now where it is realy, really frustrating. And everyone where i live has to put up with my bad temper. So here i am hoping for a solution to my problem, which is as follows:

My ADSL Wireless Connection disconnects for a few seconds approximately every 20-30 minutes. It drops all day long, everyday of the week, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

MODEM: BELKIN N1 WIRELESS MODEM ROUTER

MODEL NUMBER: f5d8631-4

My Operating System: Windows Vista Standard

2 Other computers connected to Network (both Laptop Computers running Windows Vista) Sometimes a total of 4 Computers connected to the Network.

* I really don't know what other info to provide. Would it be helpful to provide error messages from 'Event Viewer' ? or other info ?

- Some errors from Event Viewer are as follows:

* Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

* The system failed to register network adapter with settings:

Adapter Name : {D8311806-7044-4B37-A79E-D309BE6B416A}

Host Name : NWAK-PC

Adapter-specific Domain Suffix : Belkin

DNS server list :

[IP REMOVED BY AUSSIE]

Sent update to server : <?>

IP Address(es) :

[IP REMOVED BY AUSSIE]

The cause of this DNS registration failure was because of DNS server failure. This may be due to a zone transfer that has locked the DNS server for the applicable zone that your computer needs to register itself with.

(The applicable zone should typically correspond to the Adapter-specific Domain Suffix that was indicated above.) You can manually retry registration of the network adapter and its settings by typing "ipconfig /registerdns" at the command prompt. If problems still persist, contact your network systems administrator to verify network conditions.

- ipconfig/registerdns doesn't solve the problem

* Unable to initialize the security package Kerberos for server side authentication. The data field contains the error number.

* WLAN AutoConfig service has successfully stopped.

* The server {C2BFE331-6739-4270-86C9-493D9A04CD38} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.

I'm not too sure weather these Event Viewer Error messages are relevant to my Internet Connection disconnecting every 20-30 minutes. I have just tried to provide as much info as i can.

I am willing to provide whatever other necessary information is needed to troubleshoot this problem. I also promise to give credit where credit is due.

Thanks in advance to whomever is kind enough to offer me assistance.

Re: Wireless Internet Connectivity Issues

Are you sure that it is the wireless and not the ISP?

Have you not had this problem with a wired connection to  your router?

Re: Wireless Internet Connectivity Issues

This is easy to fix.

In the Event Viewer

- Click the Details tab

- then XML View

- Copy the GUID

Open RegEdit

- From the Edit menu, select Find

- Paste the GUID

- Click Find

When the GUID is selected in the left column

- Double-Click the Enable Reg_DWORD in the right column

- Change the value to 0

Now all of a sudden it has stopped working and the all of the other computers work in the house but not mine. Its a HP G6000 and there is a little blue light that tells you that the wireless is turned on and it turns orange if its not on. Its turned orange and it wont turn on at all and i have no idea how to get it back on. Anyone have any ideas? and obviously im not a computer expert so could you please answer without the techniqual language please? :smileyhappy:
