Wireless on dm4

Had to do a clean install on a new dm4 after it got infected with viruses.  I installed from a stock Windows 7 home Premium disc, not an HP OEM.

Currently having trouble getting the wireless network card to work.  I can’t seem to make it appear as on when I install the drivers.  The LED button hidden in the F10 key now seems to work for the Bluetooth receiver and not the wireless.

This and a PCI communications Controller are the only internal hardware components I can not seem to find the drivers for, or at least make them work after the drivers are installed.

Can any one help me get the wireless to work on this laptop??

Thanks

Re: Wireless on dm4

Hi,

All the drivers listed for your PC and Operating System are on the link below.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4062&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=4221...

Regarding your Wireless Card, make sure to install the correct driver for the card you have installed in your PC.  You should be able to verify the card ( whether Intel or Atheros ) manufacturer by looking under Network Adapters in Windows Device Manager ( from the Control Panel ).

Also in the Control Panel, open Windows Mobility Centre to ensure the wireless card is turned on here.

Let me know how you get on.

Best wishes,

DP-K

Re: Wireless on dm4

PCI communications Controller, is related to Intel Management Engine Interface and the driver from which can be download from here ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp49501-50000/sp49557.exe

For wireless not working, can you install this Broadcom wireless and check... ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp49501-50000/sp49541.exe

Re: Wireless on dm4

These hardware components are marked as unknown in the device manager with yellow caution symbol on them.
Windows insists that there are no drivers installed for the devices

I have already install every driver located on that site.

Re: Wireless on dm4

Hi,

Right click on the Devices with the warning icon and select Uninstall.  Do not delete drivers if asked.  When finished, reboot the PC and let Windows reinstall the Devices.  Check in Device Manager whether they still have warning icons next to them.

Re: Wireless on dm4

@ Gigantor - have you download loaded the drivers from the link posted by me? if that has not worked...I would suggest posting screenshot of the device manager...that would help...
