Hi,

I have a Pavilion dv7-1135nr Laptop and just upgraded to windows 7. Everything went smoothly until I noticed that I can't turn on my wireless. I have a Atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter. I have tried all of the trouble shooting but nothing works. Any ideas or help that anyone has?
What processor is installed in your laptop? (Intel or AMD?)
is your Win 7 32-bit or 64-bit?
Your product name has a letter missing. In windows hold the CTRL+ALT keys down then tap the S key.
Please post the information that it shows.
What is your locale? I just perused the Maintenence and Service manual and I see no listing for the model Atheros adapter that you gave. The adapter models vary by locale and chipset manufacturer.
In the dv7-1100 series support documents, the number that is closest (dv7-1135nr) to what you gave showed a broadcom wireless adapter not an Atheros wireless adapter Actually all except one showed Broadcom with one having no wireless. . Exactly why do you believe that you have an Atheros wireless adapter installed?
regards,
erico

I have the same model laptop with same adapter... Contacted the HP and Microsoft, the cycle and trobleshooting going on and on, but now way of fixing it...
HP Pavillion Laptop with model - dv7-1135nr
Its Windows 7 - 64bit
Wireless Adaptor is Atheros AR5007 802.11 B/G wireless adapter
Yes, HP is offering the driver for Broadcom adapter which HP start using it later date which been replaced with Atheros adapter
We found this adapter name from Device manager and got the driver (older version) installed.
But unfortunately, driver never gets loaded, so we can not turn on the wireless adapter (soft key/touch button) to turn on the wireless modem.
Please help..

Erico, The processor is an AMD Turion (tm) X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-70 2.0 GHz. It is 64 bit.
To answer your question about how I know that it is an Atheros adaptor is that I cut and pasted it directly from the System information. I think the number of the computer is correct dv7- 1135nr. That's what is says both on the computer and in the system information.
I did the Cntrl+Alt keys with hitting the S key but nothing happened. What additional information are you looking for?
Regarding locale, I am in West Chest,PA and purchased the computer in Wilmington Delaware at Best Buy about a year ago.
Thoughts?

Just wanted to "close the loop" on this thread. Last night a Windows 7 update was downloaded and installed and this morning my Wireless works for the firsst time since installing Windows 7. Don't know what the cause actually was in the end because the update fixed it. But I am now a happy camper.
Thanks to all who provided in put on this problem

Dont't feel alone. The same thing has happened to me. I have found Win7 to be a nice OS so far. Glad your wireless is working.
