can not connect to the internet

i have an hp mini and since i got it i was never able to connect to the internet... my internet provider is cable n i have a linksys wireless B router...my other laptop is working good, so i don't know what happen to this one,

  what should i do??? how should i fix it??

Is the Linksys wireless router B only?  If so, perhaps it's time you upgrade to a Wireless G or Wireless N router.

u think its the router?  but all my other things r working just fine

i forgot to menation  when i click on wireless connection i see my wireless network but when i type in the password it says "please wait while windows connects to the linksys network" and after a few min. it stops without connecting.
