hp pavilion g6 ralink wifi shows connections available but will not connect to my network.

hp pavalion g6 with ralink wifi shows connections available but it will not connect to any wifi network. All of my other devices do connect to the network and I have tried everything from driver updates to factory restore, nothing works.

Hi:

Did you try the latest driver that came out a week ago?

Re: hp pavilion g6 ralink wifi shows connections available but will not connect to my network.

There was something I read on this forum and I can't remember if it was for the Realtek or Ralink card.

But someone said to go into the advanced settings (click on card in device manager), look for advanced settings (tab)?

They said the only way they could get it to work was to change the one of the settings setting from b/g/n to b/g.

If your card has such a setting, you can try that.

If that doesn't work then I don't have any other ideas you can try.

Re: hp pavilion g6 ralink wifi shows connections available but will not connect to my network.

didn't have that option.

This is so weird. I have never seen a perfectly good network adapter not connect even after a complete factory restore and driver update.

I agree with you.

If installing the latest driver after doing a factory reset didn't fix it, then I would be beside myself at that point.

Now it is time for you to play with the router settings.

Try changing the broadcast channel setting to 1 or 11.

See if changing the broadcast mode to something different helps (probably set to mixed), change it to something else just to see if you can get the darn thing to connect.
