Hi I am a novice with this so please bear with me!!!
We have two laptops both running wirelessly.
Asus K52 running on windows 7 and a Toshiba running on windows xp, both were attached to the hp printer photosmart 2610 via usb cable as and when we needed to print. We received a usb not recognised message, replaced the usb cable but still couldn't get them to print.
We have now connectect the router to the printer via ethernet.
Reloaded the software onto the toshiba running on xp and it prints fine.
Loaded on the software to the Asus running on windows 7 and will print until you turn the laptop off, when you turn it back on its goes offline and will not print. It does this each time.
Can anyone please offer a solution as its driving me nuts!!!
Is it something to do with the ip address/ or drivers or can we just not run two different laptops off it???
Thanks in advance

Hi,
It seems to me as your security software blocks the connectivity with the printer upon restart.
Please run the HP Network diagnostics Utility and clarify any issue the tool might detect:
Attitudinally, after completing the test, click the Advanced Button, then click Display Detected Firewalls and clarify which Firewall and Antivirus software is running in the background.
If my post resolved your problem, please mark it as as Accepted Solution

hi
i have done the test and it says 'software missing' but this morning i downloaded updated drivers etc from the hp website so not sure what that means.
The firewalls says 'microsoft windows firewall enabled'
Whats next?
