hpdv7 will connect to netgear router but can not connect to internet

my hpdv7-1245dx with vista will show and connect to my homes wireless netgear router but then it will not let me connect to the internet.I have to use thee cable to connect to network AND internet.

I need help.

My computer does not have a problem connecting wirelessly elsewhere>

may you please run the microsoft troubleshooter for wireless.

simply right click on the bars in the system tray for your wireless internet and click on troubleshoot problems, I'm thinking you just have to powercycle your modem and router and the laptop.

You might consider updating your wireless router's firmware. I had issues with my previous (same brand as yours) wireless router and upgraded to what I considered to be a better brand.

What model wireless card do you have installed in your PC?

Maybe a driver update will help.
