Accepted Solution

hpqwutils.exe

A message appears on screen:  hpqwuilts.exe   -   there is no disk in the drive.  Please insert a disk into Drive \ Device \ Harddisk1 \ DR1

I must delete (x) this message about 10 times before I can go on with my activities.

When shutting down, it appears again.  -  over and over.

Thank you

Re: hpqwutils.exe

This error occurs due to corrupted Quickweb software. Please uninstall it. You can do it from Start, Control Panel, Programs and Features option.

If you want to use the Quickweb software, please let me know so that I can provide the link to download it.

Great! Thank you, although, it partially worked in my case. The reason I said partially is because the driver, Removable Disk (H: ), is still shown on my Windows File Manager. How can I take it out. The driver does not exist. Sorry about my English, if you find any mistake.

Re: hpqwutils.exe

@mjvaughan
There are three ways to setup the system not to disable the Removable Disks if they are empty. Here is the link that explains them in detail:

NOTE: You need to only try any one of the method.

Re: hpqwutils.exe

Thanks for your quick respond! I read the 3 options and decided to apply the first one, but when I got through the process I found that the option Hide empty drivers was already checked. Should I unchecked, restart, checked and restart the computer again?

Re: hpqwutils.exe

I would suggest you perform the steps as you thought. If this does not work, you can try the option 2 and option 3.

Re: hpqwutils.exe

Thank you so much. We are getting closer to solve the full problem. There is still appearing an empty disk drive but this time it is a local one (Q: ). It does not let me even get access to it and I don´t remember I had created anytime before. What do you think about?

Re: hpqwutils.exe

Now, let me understand that exactly is your Q drive. Right-click on Computer, select Manage.Under the Storage section, click on Disk Management. It takes a few seconds to get the disk management screen in the right pane. Please share the screenshot of this disk management section so that I can understand the issue.
