Hi:
You don't have a wireless card in the notebook you can connect with?
Anyway, please click on all the network and unknown devices you have in the device manager. Then click on the details tab.
Post the top string of characters you see. Those identify the manufacturer of the devices and the device type and model.
With that info, I can try and find the XP drivers and send you the links to them.

thanks for effort.
i have wifi card in laptop, but my router has broken wifi card-cant emit wifi signal. i can use conncetion only by cable
i know what card i have inside, i used program everest ultimate edition to scan my all components in pc and also device manager confirm that i should have good drivers but wierd it doesnt work:
network is:
realtek RTL8139/810x fast ethernet adapter
wifi is: broadcom BCM4311 802.11g wireless network adapter
i m pretty dissapointed about this drivers situation, i dont understand how HP cant support users in this way
it is difficult to get drivers, right drivers, not old drivers and make it all work
stupid consume policy = just buy new one
unbelievable

Hi:
If you think it is an issue with the drivers, here is the link to the Realtek site for the driver download page for the 8139 NIC:
You can give that a try for the operating system you are running (XP).

Hi:
I still think you should do what I requested and post the hardware ID string.
You say I'm not helping you, but I am trying to.
You said that the system scan says you have a dv6600 model series. "{or dv6600 like said this web after i entered s/n, p/n}"
Well, when you look at the wired NIC driver for a dv6600 model, I see a Realtek RTL8101 Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet NIC.
The device details ID string will provide the exact information we need to locate the correct driver.
If it is indeed the RTL8139, then I don't know what to say because if Realtek doesn't have the right driver for it, and they are the manufacturer, then who does?

That is interesting:
We can solve what network adapter you have if you click on the network adapter in the device manager and then click on the details tab. Post the top string of characters you see.
I also found this RTL8139 driver for XP. You can try this first if you want. If it doesn't work, I need to have that hardware ID to be able to help you further.
Paul
