local area connection

Hello, I just built a PC. I have been installed windows 7, but I could not get into internet (online). I tried to perform trouble shooting and problems found. The error was "The local area connection adapter is not working properly." What is this mean?

Thank you for your help.

Re: local area connection

It means that the driver for the NIC doesn't work well or there is another problem with the ethernet card..

Re: local area connection

Thank you very much for your response. How could I fix this error? The ethernet is on board.( attached on the motherboard)

Thanks again!

Re: local area connection

Go to the Device Manager in the Control Panel/System and have a look if the ethernet card is working properly. Keep us posted if the card is working and drivers are installed..

Re: local area connection

Hi, when you told me that the ethernet card was not working properly, I checked and I found out thet light wasn't flashing.

So, I  unplugged the cable and I put back in and I seen the ethernet card was flashing. That's it, I'm online....Also I checked

in device manager and it says the ehternet card is working properly... Thanks again!
