my Intel wi-fi hotspot program disappeared- dv6t qe [ Edited ]

Hi all. I have a dv6t qe. With intel wireless drivers. I have a program that makes my laptop take its internet connection, and acts like a wifi hotspot. I believe it was intel centrino N-6150 proset/wireless program called my wifi?

It showed up in my task bar tray, and it really came in handy. Now the other day i went to use it, and its gone. I searched my computer, tried redownloading the drivers. An still cant find it; Any suggestions?  Thanks, Scott

Is this application downloaded from Intel or HP?

It came installed in my laptop. So i didnt download it personally

I would suggest doing a system restore back to a time when you know it worked.

So if I do that, Ill lose everything on my computer from that point up until now then huh.. Could it have been from an update that was installed? Do you have the same feature on your comp?

I tried reinstalling the drivers, that didn't work.  So the other day I contacted HP support chat through the computer, and they basically had me do the same thing, download drivers. then uninstall the program, reinstall, update bios, etc.  Still nothing, and they didn't know what else to do at the time...

It was part of the Intel Centrino N-6150 + WIMAX. I think the program I am talking about is listed as "WI-FI Direct"  which is part of the N-6150 adapter.  Hotspot feature.

So I'm at my wits end, not sure what else to do. I searched my computer to find it, but still can't. Should I contact Intel, or is there any other department in HP that can help?  My laptop is still new, only 5-6 months. Please let me know if you can help any further.
