How do I fix my printer that will not print ,scan or copy. Senes error ( scan orror) at start up every time, I up graded from A  dest top  with window XP to A window 7!

The scanning mechanism might be malfunctioning. Power off the printer, unplug the power cable and then wait for 60 secs. Replug the power cable and then power on the printer. Do you see any errors on the LCD?

I should have been more explicit.  It works just fine when wired to my laptop,but will not  print copy, fax, or scan when feeding paper by hand to print copy, fax, or scan, by pushing buttons on unit.  It worked for a year just fine.

This happened just after a paper jam.
