nc4400 driver issues

Hi, just done a clean install of XPpro on a nc4400, downloaded drivers from HP site and installed. Ethernet will not install and there are 3 unknown devices showing in device manager. Any help would be most appreciated

Hi, Urban:
Shouldn't be a problem at all to get your notebook all set up and running right.
Please go to your device manager and click on each problem device one at a time (including your ethernet controller you tried to install). Click on the details tab. Post the hardware ID string you see for each missing device.
I will then post the link to the driver download for each device.
In the meantime, please download and install the chipset driver and reboot.

Had already installed the chipset driver, mysteriously the ethernet seems to have installed itself. I think the ID strings to which you refer are

The HPQ's are your Quick Launch Button, I believe:
The other one may be your mobile data protection system driver:
I presume you got your card reader, modem, wireless card, etc, drivers?
Please post back if these don't work and I will have to hunt some more.
