If your wireless went dead on your dv6000, as mine did, and the 11/08 driver updates don't work, as the ones I installed didn't, here's what I did for a quick fix: connect a USB wireless adapter ($49 at Best Buy) into one of your notebook's USB slots. I have a linksys wireless router, so I bought a linksys wireless adapter. I went with linksys adapter because I wanted to make sure the router I had was compatible with the adapter.
I was not willing to send my notebook to have it repaired. I had read on other posts where the problem wasn't fixed, so I did not want to send out my notebook. Plus, I rely on the notebook everyday and did not want to have it out for the length of time it would have taken to have new hardware installed.
This will work until I buy a new notebook, and it won't be an HP!
