I have the HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook. Every time I disconnect the power, the wireless connection to the router drops. I plug the power cable back in and then disconnect from the router & reconnect and everything is fine. I have not moved. The laptop is in the exact same spot. The only change is removing the power cable.
I've gone through all the power saving options that I can find and set them the same as powered options. In fact I got so tired of HP updates changing my power settings that I no longer allow any updates.
What am I missing?
Win 7 - 64, Intel i7-2630QM cpu @ 2.00ghz
Ram = 8 gb
Bios = F.1B

Hello -
Just to make sure have you gone to "Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings" then clicked on "Change advanced settings" then checked the settings under "wireless adapter settings"?

Product Number - LY068UA#ABC (bought in Canada)
Device Manager says the Wireless card is Intel Centrino Wireless - N1030 and there's also a Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter plus Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter # 2 controlled by Realtek PCI3 GBE Family Controller
I hope that helps

BIOS allows me to select date/time, language, add password and enable/disable the following -
Virtualization technology - disabled
Fan always on - enabled
action keys - enabled
switchable graphics mode - enabled
boot options -
No LAN settings what so ever that I could find.

Ok, please go device manager, open properties of wifi card and change the power management option under wireless card settings. something like this.

Sorry, that didn't help. The B9180 popped up the message that it was disconnected. The C309 printer showed as off line in Windows Explorer and I couldn't surf (network meter showed no download speed).
Let's keep trying.![]()
