I have the hp pavilion dv2700 and the wireless switch will not work, I've restarted the computer multiple times but nothing seems to work. I'll slide the switch back and forward but the wireless connection won't turn on it stays orange.
Any information that can help would be much appreciated. It also doesn't register when i plug in a internet (networking) cord Thank you! ![]()

Please identify your dv2700 with the p/n from the
1) barcoded sticker(if there is one)
2) the first screen of the BIOS
3) the HP Support Assistant.
Post your installed operating system.
Kind regards,
erico

Thanks.
Update the BIOS to the latest version. There have been five BIOS updates since the original BIOS.The current version will provide a rollup to all enhancements. Follow the BIOS update instructions precisely to the letter and only do the update with the external power adapter attached. Do not update BIOS while on battery power alone.
Install the Essential system updates for your notebook available at the web support portal.
Here is a link to the Driver & Software downloads available for your notebook at its HP web support portal.
Have you tried enabling the wireless adapter via the netork device in the Device Manager?
Have you tried using the HP Wireless Assistant?
Best regards,
erico

There are a couple of options.
1) plug a CAT5 cable into the port on your notebook and the other end into an avaiable port on your wireless modem or router.
2) use another PC, go to your notebook's web support portal and download the files to a USB thumbdrive. Plug the thumbdrive into an available port on your notebook and double click on it to run the update from there.
Your notebook's supprt portal web address is below.

Hello, sorry if this is not the right place to post this but i am really desperate. I reinstalled my windows on my HP Pavilion g6t-1b00 CTO Notebook PC and i tried to install some network adapters without any success.. my wireless icon shows a screen slashed by 2 red lines like a X. I tried over 2 days now to do this and i just gave up.. i can't i'm sorry.. please help me with anything you can i beg you. Drivers, adapter card.. whatever. I did install a thingy for wi-fi i forgot its name and it kept telling me the driver is not installed. But i installed tons of drivers without any result. I installed both relantik (i think i spelled it wrong) and the other thing with ''a''. Please help.
