Hi Paul, I am having the same problem.  This is the harware ID for our laptop:  PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176&SUBSYS_1629103C&REV_01

I know this is an old thread, but I'm hopeful someone is listening 🙂

Thanks

Hi:

Below is the link to the driver you need for the hardware ID of PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8176:

Thanks very much Paul....I received an error message when I tried to instal the driver, that it is not a valid application.  Any advice?

You're very welcome.

Sorry that driver didn't work.

Try this one instead.

Sorry Paul, no luck with that one either...

Well...I don't get it because that is the driver you need for the wireless card in your notebook.

Try manually installing the first driver I posted because it is newer.

Download and run the driver again.

Go to the device manager and click on the network controller needing drivers.

Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software method.

Browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That will be located in C: SWSetup\sp57049.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

Hi Paul, I've now been able to instal the driver, but the wifi button is still not working. When I push it,  I  get the error notice to push the wifi button.   Yikes.

Unfortunately at this point, I will have to give up.

My recommendation is to back up your files, and do a system recovery and start fresh.
