Re: HP Pavilion dv6 wireless card

I see two pages with different wireless cards but I'm still confused as to which cards would be considered upgrades and would be accepted in the laptop and bios and what not

Re: HP Pavilion dv6 wireless card

I just looked at both of those cards on the manufacturers website and they both only support 2.4ghz single band. I don't know where you are seeing that they support 5.0 ghz transmission. They are also crappy cards and wouldnt really be an update to what I have.

Re: HP Pavilion dv6 wireless card

Hi,

Sorry i missed this. This the differece of different wireless card. So you can choose a wireless card based on below information.

802.11A is 54Mega bits per second runs on the 5GHZ Spectrum !

802.11B is 11Mega bits per second runs on the 2.4GHZ Spectrum Was more popular slower-more range not that impressive!

802.11G is 54/108 Mega bits per second runs on the 2.4GHZ Spectrum better range and bandwith than 802.11A seemed like the format that knocked out Wireless A vs Wireless B!

802.11N is 150/600 Megabits per second runs on the 2.4GHZ-3.0GHZ and sometimes Combined with 5.0GHZ wireless A, Is the newest replacement to the 802.11 Standars with longer range and MIMO(Multiple Inputs Multiple Outputs) send and Recieves at the same time! 3 Antennaes are the Standard on top of the line Routers!

Re: HP Pavilion dv6 wireless card

So far you have done nothing to answer my question on what new card can be put in my laptop to upgrade the previous one. I wanted to know if there are any 5.0 ghz supporting cards that keep Bluetooth and the cards you came up with only support 2.4ghz. Your last post about wireless a/b/g/n had nothing to do with my previous question and only told me information I've already known.
