I have a HP laptop HP G60-235WM with the atheros AR5007 802.11b/g WiFi Adapter
The problem with it is the WiFi light stays orange and stay lite. When you hit the button it shows that you have CARD pop up "HP Wireless Assistant" and it will either be disabled or turn off.
The card is in the is in the the device manager and shows as OK.
the system did have virus and would not boot but up to the last boot the WiFi card worked fine. After data recovery and system recovery (rebuild using the system factory partition) the card is left in a disabled mode and will not enable, but is seen with the HP Wireless agent. I tried to rebuild it again with same results and un-mounted and remounted the card and no changes

Did you somehow inadvertently turn off the wireless switch/button?
I did that once, and couldn't for the life of me figure out why my wireless light was orange.
Did you try installing the latest driver for it and see what happens?

I would like to thank you for your reply, the unit does not have a Hard wifi shutdown switch that I know of, it just have the soft switch near the power button (the orange lite button that use to turn blue when pushed) to activate that card.
I have installed the newest driver and it even said the it was successful, but no resolve.
like I said when i click the button it will toggle between disabled and off.
I have taken the card out and reseated it and all.
in the device manager it is there (seen by the computer and windows) and says it is working.

You would only have that button. There isn't two. I have a couple of notebooks with a similar button as yours where you push it and it lights up blue or amber depending on if on or off and I have one with an actual slide switch on the front edge. That is the one I inadvertently slid off when I was cleaning the PC.
Well, now that we know the button is not the issue and the driver is not the issue, you will have to resort to more drastic and painful steps to look into resolving the matter.
If I had the problem you are having, here is what I would do an in what order.
1. Go into your BIOS and see if you have a wireless card listed in the devices and if you do, make sure it is enabled. Some BIOS' do not show devices, but you may as well check.
2.. Back up any files I wanted to keep and do a factory reset of the notebook using the recovery manager or recovery disks. Then install the latest driver for your card as that card is notorious for not working with newer routers (wireless N). However, if the blue light comes back on, then you know you are almost there, if not there.
If reinstalling the operating system didn't restore the wireless, then, I would have to assume the wireless card went bad.
3. Buy a used but tested and working wireless card on eBay. You would need to query by the part number, not the model of the card because any card not having that part number or not listed in your noteboook's service manual will not work.
If you need to buy a wireless card, you may also want to upgrade it to the available wireless N card listed in chapter 3, p 3-7 of your service manual.
Again...they must have the part # on them or they will not work. Also part numbers are different by country as you can see from the list.
If that doesn't work, then it is probably a motherboard issue and then time for a new notebook or external USB wireless adapter.

ok I looked in the boi's and nothing I can do in there they really basic, i.e date, time boot order passwords.
so I rebuilt the system again still no change, I bought another card on ebay. I stayed with the same card so I would not change any variables(not the N card). nothing rebuilt the system again and still nothing.
i even tried pulling the system backup battery and nothing.
the thing is I do see it in windows device manager and it shows it as working. It also report just fine in the command window using ipconfig /all
so everything is working with the card(s) it has to be something in the HP environment
I did use a external usb card and that works but I would rather not go that route
