Looking for help setting up bluetooth on new 4530s.  As of now the device manager does not recognize any bluetooth devices.  Am I missing a driver?

Hi,

This is a list of options for your machine:

  • HP lc2010 HSPA Mobile Broadband
  • HP un2430 EV-DO/HSPA Mobile Broadband
  • HP hs2340 HSPA+ Mobile Broadband
  • Realtek 802.11b/g/n
  • Intel Centrino Advanced-N 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi (2 x 2) and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR Combo
  • Ralink 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi (2 x 2) and Bluetooth 3.0 + HS Combo
  • Atheros 802.11b/g/n WiFi (1 x 1) and Bluetooth 3.0 + HS Combo

As you can see, not all machines have BT. Please check on Device Manager (under Network adapters) which one is yours, we can work out from there.

Regards.

I have the Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter. What are my options?

Thanks MW

Hi,

As you can see above, your machine has NO Bluetooth at all. It ONLY has Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n adapter. It must have one of the following three on the list to be able to have BT.

Regards.

So the quick solution would be a BT adapter?

Hi,

Looks like that or you may want to swap the card inside (use the above list).
