an update to the problem... Not the router due to the fact that it does this on other routers as well, Plus my router is a good router. turns out it is either the wireless card, driver, or software on the laptop itself because using an ethernet cable i am able to connect no problem no matter what computer i have on first. So i either need a new wireless card or try to find a better driver for it elsewhere seeing as it doesnt have a warranty left. totally corn-fuzzled.

Well it is a new day and this did not fix the problem. Today after about 20-25 minutes the Wireless router just turned off and disconnected the internet. A lot of trouble and still no solution. Sorry about that.

It still could be the router because you said another computer does it. Also, try what jwhite33 said, uninstall the wireless driver in device mananger and reboot.

Ironically my desktop machine's problem was solved by this thread. It would freeze the router upon booting. I uninstalled the network device in device manager and rebooted, and it hasn't crashed the router yet. Thank you all.

Update! Fixed! Turns out that it was in fact the firmware on the router. When i updated it it apparently didnt update like it said it did. So what i did was go to the website of my router and found the proper firmware. Then downloaded it to my desktop and went to my router and manually downloaded it. Turned out it worked and i have been having no problems. Thanks for all the help and i hope someone else can get some help from this forum.
