my internet explorer keeps stopping and restarting

my internet explorer keeps stopping and then restarting. It is not my internet connection because it does not happen on another computer in the house.

Hi,

 

You could try resetting Internet Explorer as follows - be aware that this will remove Bookmarks and Saved Passwords etc.

 

Open windows Control Panel, open Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and then click the Reset button.  Click 'Yes' or 'Ok' to any further prompts required to complete the process.

I have tried going into interner options and resetting but it did not help. Any other suggestions?

Hi,

 

Can you post back with the following.

 

1.  The full Model No. and Product No. of the notebook - see Here for a further explanation.

 

2.  The full version of the operating system you are using ( ie Windows 7 32bit ).

I have an HP Pavilion dv 7 4148ca Entertainment Notebook PC

I use Windows 7 - 64bit

Hi,

 

Try the following.

 

Click the Start Menu and select Control Panel.  Open Programs and Features, Click 'Turn Windows features on or off' and remove the tick next to Internet Explorer 9  Click Yes then OK and then when done, restart the notebook.

 

When Windows has restarted, click the Start Menu and select Control Panel.  Open Programs and Features, Click 'Turn Windows features on or off' and re-enter the tick next to Internet Explorer 9.  Click Yes then OK and when this has finished installing, restart the notebook again.
