my wifi icon has changed into lan icon so please tell me how to change it to default,wifi icon

please help someone for me to change my wifi icon to default .it's unknowingly changed to lan icon

Badur,

 

The icon changes its looks depending on what kind of internet connection you are using.

 

If you are using a wired, cabled connection to your modem or router,

and the wireless button is turned OFF,

then the icon will show as a "lan" icon.

 

If you are running "wireless",

the icon will reflect this and show the "wireless" icon.

 

Even if you are running on a "wired" connection,

and you have the wireless button turned ON (in addition to the wired connection),

then you will see the wireless icon.

Are you looking at the icon at the system tray? If a cable is plugged in, it would show you a LAN icon. From your notes, I can assume that you are connected both wired and wireless.

 

Try unplugging the cable, the icon should change to wireless.
