Can change old custom email to new printer?

My printer became unregistered because I had to do a reset on it.

how do i change my email address to my printer?  I want to use the old custom email address which was very nice.

Is there some way I can do this. 

If I can de-register my old address that's fine as it is the same printer.  I have both the old confirmation code and the new one.

Unfortunately, once the printer has been reset, the email is no longer available. You can however use a similar email address and add a number or additional letter.

I didn't mean to reset it.  My printer would not work so I had to reset to factory settings.

it seems that it is possible to change the IP address to re-register the printer.  This seems to be a better economy for email addresses.  I don't know of any reason that this should not be possible.

Have the user to whom the shortened email is registered, log into hp.com.  Have them find the new settings for their printer, change the pointer for the shortened email address.

I guess this also means that sometime in the future should my printer jam and refuse to function, I have to reset the printer, and this means I will loose the second shortened email address.

Would you email through company channels and see if this can be changed?

I have thought about any security risks and I cannot find any.  If the user has the old full printer code and the new one, they should be allowed to give access to the old email address.

I had to do a reset as well, during troubleshooting, and I completely agree. There is a lot of obvious functionality missing from hp eprint. And that includes things like it not printing if you have sent the email to more than one email address.

How about giving users more options on things like this, HP?
