The 7510 has efax.... and Ive even had to open new ones to replace damaged ones..
My bet you got a bad unit... that wasnt done at mfg.
AS far as using efax, you only need to pay for efax if you go past the amt of faxes that are free (10 or 20 per month)
Now the 8500 doesnt, and I own the 8600+ which is a newer version... and used to sell 8500's myself also.

Alas.. I've just called the Hong Kong HP Support person and they keep saying that efax is not supported in HK (though I've checked and rechecked with efax that they DO support efax in Hong Kong). Do you know if there's a firmware update that I can make this function appear on my 7510 printer? or is there a way I can write an app and install onto my printer to do this?

Hi Wongp,
As mentioned earlier, eFax service for the 7510 is available only in the USA and Australia. It comes with 20 pages in, 20 pages out complimentary per month. I suppose there was an agreement between eFAx and HP to offer this service for the 7510 in these countries.
If you check the HP Hong Kong website for the specs on 7510, eFAx is not mentioned.
The eFax service is available worldwide for a monthly subscription of approx USD16++ with or without the 7510, ie. you can use a PC or Mac to eFax as well. I think that's what support at eFax meant.
I've tried to do a hardware reset and set the country as USA or Australia, hoping to 'trick' the printer - no go.
So if you really need the fax function, perhaps you would consider returning the product and purchase one with true fax function.
Hope this clarifies.
Regards,
MikeJazzL

Hello Wongp,
I know it has been mentioned that the free eFax service included with the Photosmart 7510, Envy 110 and 114, and the eStation is only available in the U.S.A. and Austrailia, but I wanted to add some clarification.
eFax is a third party company and does have a global service and that is why they can say their service is supported in Hong Kong. They do have a paid subscription where you can pay monthly and use their service.
Here is a link for the HP Photosmart 7510 released in Hong Kong.
Again, the free eFax that HP has is only included on the Photosmart 7510, Envy 110 and 114, and the eStation in the U.S.A. and Austrailia.
