Can you print multiple powerpoint slides per page (instead of 1 slide / pg) with eprint?

I own a HP Deskjet 3070A with eprinting technology and my computer runs Microsoft Powerpoint 2010.

I would like to customise the way my powerpoint slides are printed when I send it to my eprint email address as an attachment. In particular, I would like to print multiple slides per page for the purpose of note taking. Is there any way for me to do that? Thanks a lot.

Re: Can you print multiple powerpoint slides per page (instead of 1 slide / pg) with eprint?

Hi yeeyucai, its not possible to control print settings apart from Colour/Grayscale and paper size, when you use ePrint by sending your file as an attachment to an email. I'm not sure if your computer is a laptop and if so there are times when you need to print to your Deskjet 3070A remotely but if so then you can do that by installing the HP ePrint Mobile driver. Once installed when you try and print from within Powerpoint you'll see HP ePrint listed as another available printer and when you choose that option you can search for your Deskjet 3070A by its email address and set the number of pages per sheet to whatever number you want. Obviously if your computer is a desktop then there is little value in installing the driver unless there are other ePrint enabled printers you sometime send content to.

Let me know if this makes sense or you need any help getting setup.

Re: Can you print multiple powerpoint slides per page (instead of 1 slide / pg) with eprint?

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I have installed the software as you suggested. At first glance everything seems to be working right - the ePrint icon is available as a printer, and i managed to print out a test page successfully.

However, when I tried to print a Powerpoint slideshow using the Powerpoint print options, a message popped out stating "Failed to send job". However, when i logged on to eprintcenter.com to check, the file was present under "recent print jobs" and labelled as "pending".

I tried other Powerpoint files, as well as Word and Excel. They all have no problems i.e. printed out with intended settings. So it seems that the problem is specific to a particular file that I'm trying to print. What could be the problem with that file?

Thank you for your time.

Regards,
Yee Yucai

Hi Yee Yucai, some known issues that can cause files not to print successfully via the ePrint service are if the file in question is password protected or encrypted or digitally signed. Might that apply to the file you are having problems with?

Re: Can you print multiple powerpoint slides per page (instead of 1 slide / pg) with eprint?

Hi, I think I have discovered the reason why the file ccouldn't print.

The original document had a long filename ("Occupational Health Concerns in a Workshop Environment", to be precise). After I shortened the filename, I was able to send the document to ePrint and get it printed. Is it a known issue for long filenames not to be accepted?

As such, I think all my queries have been answered. Thank you once again.

Long file names couild be another reason why ePrint may not work on certain files. Glad to hear you got the problem sorted and you're able to print multiple slides per page through the ePrint Mobile Driver.

Best wishes,

Andy
