I have a photosmart 7515 aio printer. I am having hard time setting up efax. The printer is connected, webservices enabled ( I can see and connect to apps) and eprint enabled. When I try to setup the efax account, it states eprint needs to be enabled - not sure why it cannot correctly read the eprint that has been enabaled. Once I try to enable it (again) in efax screen, it tries to connect to internet and displays a message that the printer is not connected to the internet. I know that is not true as the IP is correctly assigned by the router and I can connect to all the apps. I am totally stuck, Can someone please help.!

Hi rajm,
I'd like to try a possible fix:
I'd like for you to change some DNS settings within the printers EWS (embedded web server).
To do this, put the IP address into a browser window on your PC.
This should launch the EWS. Within the EWS, select the network tab. under the network tab, select "networking".
Then select "network address" (IP). Do not change the IP configuration at the top. Go to the bottom under "DNS Address configuration “and select "Manual DNS server”. Under manual DNS server, input 8.8.8.8 (one 8 in each box) on the first line, and 8.8.4.4 on the second line. Hit the "Apply" button at the bottom.
Now try to set up eFax.
Reminder: Please select the "Accept as Solution" button on the post that best answers your question. Also, you may select the "Kudos" button on any helpful post to give that person a quick thanks.

Thanks Donovan!
The solution worked. Atlast!
The only thing I would like to add for the benefit of others is that the printer needs to be shut down and restarted to make the DNS settings to take effect. After that it worked. Also, if it does not work the first time, try again and it will work the second time as the efax setup toggles between enabling and disabling the webservices.
Thanks!

Thank you for your help. I tried setting up my efax for over an hour before I found this post. I did shut it off as suggested and it worked perfectly.

Is it the same DNS input numbers for a model 7510 printer? I was unable to setup efax following these guidelines. My printer says it is still not connected to the internet. I have applied the setting changes, restarted the printer, and tried entereing in my information many times over with no luck.

Hello,
The first thing I would do is follow step six in this document to set a static IP: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docnam
When it askes for DNS information, enter in Google's DNS. Preferred DNS = 8.8.8.8 Alt DNS = 8.8.4.4
If that does not help, if you could provide me with the following information it would help me out. First, who is your ISP( Internet Service Provider, i.e. Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, ect.)? Second, who is the maker of your router? Lastly, what is the model number and firmware version of your router?

Try adding the printer to the router's DMZ list. If that doesn't work you may need to contact tech support directly. You can find the number here.
