Getting started with ePrint

[ Edited ]

Welcome to the ePrint support forum for owners of HP web-connected printers!   We hope you will find this forum fun and useful for asking and answering questions on ePrint, and sharing your ideas and suggestions with other ePrint users.

Please see this link for information about getting started with ePrint: http://h30495.www3.hp.com/news/37/eprint-getting-started

Another key ePrint resource is www.hp.com/go/eprintcenter, where you can create an account and add your web-connected printer(s), manage your ePrint settings, see the status of current ePrint jobs, and control who can print to your printer.  There are also extensive ePrint  FAQ and Help resources available there – if you have a question or problem with eprint, start with the ePrint FAQ and Help on hpeprintcenter to get quick answers.

If you are having problems connecting your web connected printer to your wireless network, you’ll find extensive information, guides, and troubleshooting advice and tools at www.hp.com/go/wirelessprinting.  Start there for your wireless setup needs.

ePrint is not the same as AirPrint, Apple's wireless printing solution which allows you to print to HP ePrint-enabled printers over wifi. You can read more about the differences between HP ePrint and Apple's Airprint (and how to use AirPrint with HP ePrint printers) here:

Thanks for joining the forum and happy ePrinting!

but according to the diagnostics i am, now i even tried plugging the usb in the router and it didn't help.

I read the guides and none of really seem to help me out. I even updated my router just this thinking it was out of date

Rcras:

Can you verify the following?

 - What printer model do you own?

 - Is your printer connected to your home wireless network (the blue light on the front should be on, not blinking)?

 - Can you print to your printer from your computer over your wireless network (not via USB)?

 - Have you enabled web services on your printer and it has printed out the web services info sheet?

 - Have you tried turning your printer off and then on again and refreshing the page on HPePrintCenter to see if the status updates?

 - Have you tried sending an email to your printer's email address to see if it prints?

Thanks!

Re: Getting started with ePrint

My new HP 8500A does not seem to eprint even though it is "connected" and "ready".  I've emailed test messages from several Pcs and devices over the past hour but no result.  What am I missing?  M

Re: Getting started with ePrint

I have been unable to get this connected.  get a 403 error when attempting to connect to apps. I Attempt to locate Printer code and just DONOT see such a field. Where do you get to it? Second part what is ment by web-connected? This thing is on a local network and has access to the internet? For something so simple its complicated.

Thanks for any and all help. My best guess is to skip it But!

Re: Getting started with ePrint

I travel a lot and eprint is a big help.

It is frustrating when its new, everything works well and then 2 days later eprint fails and you don't know why. All other print functions work well. Refresh button on web does not seem to do anything.  It says you are not connected when you know you are because you have just printed via your router !!  As with most stuff like this, turn it off and turn it on again seems to cure problem. When can software developers make something reliable ?? That all said I am eating up a few forests as I like the output.
