Can The Lorax Daily Print Activities be used on a MAC?

The installation instructons say that you need a Windows OS:

I'm not too familiar with Macs, so am not sure if you can have all the requirements. If you think you do, you could try it.

I do not have a printer readily available to me where I can print these.  Is there a way to download them instead of printing them on a schedule?

Hi hoosierjo,

You don't need to save them to a file. They are kept in your printer queue until they can be printed. I've gone a couple days without my notebook attached to a printer and as soon as the notebook was booted up with a printer attached, the pages start printing.

However, you need to be careful. Some of the print files are rather large. I had a daily crossword and some other things going to the print queue over a long holiday and my computer slowed down considerably because it didn't have much room left.

Thanks, but I want to save them to a file because I do not have access to a printer of my own.  My work does not wish me to run such things as these on their equipment, and I do not have one at my home.  So, what do you suggest?  I want to see them and download them so I can have access to them when I can.

Hi again hoosierjo,

That is a bit more complicated. Haven't tried this myself, but have been told that you can try "printing to" a PDF file.

This is not a procedure supported by HP and your results might vary. If you don’t have PDF writing software, there are a number of free programs, like cutePDF, that may work for you.

We all upgraded to Mac OS X. How do we download this (we no longer use Windows)?

Hi ProfMed,

The Print Activities were designed for Windows, so unless you have access to a machine that uses a Windows OS, they won't work.

OK- no access to Windows (did not have very good luck with Windows computers and we got rid of all of them when we upgraded to the Mac). Hopefully this might be upgraded for Macs or iPad?
