I have done the following and still have the issue
1) power down printer by removing power cord for more than 10 minutes, powered down router and modem, powered back up in reverse order
2) turned off web services
3) removed printer from eprint center settings.
4) recreated printer associating the printer code printed out from the printer, turned web services back on
Why can I still not connect to the Applications on the printer?

Hello scuts,
You have been thorough with your previous steps. I would also try:
- Print a network configuration page from the printer, see the link below for instructions.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02786613&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang ... - Enter the IP Address into the address bar of an internet browser and press Enter, this should load a page about your printer.
- Click on the Network Tab.
- Click on IPv4 under the Wired section.
- Click on Manual Configuration.
- Enter the same information as the Network Configuration page into IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway.
- Enter the Default Gateway value into the Preferred DNS Server field and enter 8.8.8.8 into the Alternate DNS Server field.
Although I work for HP, my posts and replies are my own opinion and not those of HP.

For whatever reason I am not able to get to the printer via the IP address. What is even more odd is that the ip is 169.254.31.81 but the DHCP on the router is set to assign IP's from 10.10.10.100 to 10.10.10.149
I am not sure how it got the 169.254* address. I had it manually assigned to an IP in the range so I figured I would remove that and let dhcp pick it up. I rebooted the printer and thats when it pulled the 169 address.
Any thoughts?

scuts,
I understand, 169.254.xx.xx is an IP address the printer gives itself when it cannot obtain a valid IP address.
You can assign a manual IP address for the printer from the front panel, since that is what I was referencing on my previous post, and then follow the rest of the steps in my original post.
Again, a manual IP Address can be set from the front panel of the printer, but the DNS Server settings must be done from a computer in the steps referenced earlier.

scratch that.... I guess it hadnt resolved after rebooting. It now has 10.10.10.105 as the ip and I am able to access the web server.
Attached is a screen shot of hte manual ipv4 configuration. I am still not able to get into apps though. Did I set something wrong?

scuts,
I am unable to see the attachment of the IP configuration.
I will say, verify that you set the correct IP Configuration, your printer has a Wired and Wireless section under the Network tab of the Embedded Web Server.
Also, you may want to power cycle your printer , and even your router, once more, so the printer restarts with the settings that you changed.
With the IP Address that you have given me, your configuration probably looks something like:
IP Address: 10.10.10.105
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 10.10.10.1
Preferred DNS Server: 10.10.10.1
Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
Although I work for HP, my posts and replies are my own opinion and not those of HP.

You correct on your synopsis of the settings. I did change the wired version of the settings. After a power cycle the problem still persists.
