HP 8500A using a wired network connection - airprint can no longer find the printer from iPhone

The airprint worked like a charm the day I set up the printer and the following week. I hit print on my iPhone and the printer name was already there. Now this week, it shows no printer name but rather "select printer" . When I hit select printer, I can't find a printer at all.

 

It prints from my macbook pro with no issues. The iPhone wont print at all. All the documentation I can find is for solving the problem when the printer is used wirelessly, mine is wired to my network router and 90% of the instructions do not apply. Anyone have a solution?

Update:  I said it prints from my macbook fine, that is not correct. It hung up and did not print at all and shows there is no location for the printer. I have no clue where to go now.
