HP Photosmart 5512

As a family we bought this.  We have 2 android phones, an iPad, an iPhone, and 3 iPods.  Every now and then after messing for an hour will we get a device to actually print.  We are dealing with 10 different emails, passwords etc, trying to remember setting up all these accounts etc, and now its a mess.  The iPad is the only device with no problems.  I've downloaded eprint, and the home and biz eprint from the android market......no luck.  I hate this printer and what it claims is so easy to setup and print on the go.  Would someone PLEASE tell me how to fix or completely erase everything, then how to get everything up, running, sync'd etc?  Surely you cant just have 1 owner, with their email/password.  I just want the whole world to be able to print from anywhere, if I just give them a password or something.  No restrictions, multiple email accounts etc.  PLEASE HELP!!!

Please use plain text.

Re: HP Photosmart 5512

To clear everything out you want to disable webservices and reenable it. Keep in mind you will lose access to the custom email address you had set up, and will have to make a different one.

To do this push the print button on the front panel, go to settings, scroll to the bottom and go to remove web services. Then go back in to the eprint menu to enable it again. At this point you should only need ONE eprintcenter.com account for everyone to print to. Create/log in to this account, and add the printer code from the information page. If everyone in the family wants to see job status, add apps, etc, then let them know the password for the account so that they can log in. Now what you have two options, allow ANYONE to print to the printer, keep in mind people you dont know could potentially print if they find out the address, or option two is to allow only certain senders, which can be accessed from the main page after you have logged in, under print settings. This allows you to add up to 500 authorized users, which will also give you the added benefit of detailed information on why a job has failed.

Once this is all set up, anyone on the list you created, or anyone at all depending on which option you chose, can simply send a print job to the printers email address and it will print. This is of course assuming you are emailing the correct file types, they arent over the 5mb limit etc.
