Hi Wjstella,
The first thing to do is to update your firmware to make the printer AirPrint ready. Use this page to select the appropriate operating system and choose the firmware update utility.

If you're still having problems let me know and we'll look further at it.

I have the same issue as reported by the original thread creator:
I have an HP LaserJet M1212nf MFP printer which I cannot print to.
Previously, I have a couple of iPod Touch 4G's that were on iOS 4.2.x and was able to print to it successfully.
Now, for whatever reason, I cannot print to it from my iPod Touch 4G's nor from my new iPad 2, which was bought within the last couple of weeks. The iPod Touch 4G's and iPad 2 are all on iOS 5.0.1 (9A405).
If I try to print from Safari, I get a "No AirPrint Printers Found" message from both the iPods and iPad.
I have tried to update the HP LaserJet M1212nf with the latest firmware as suggested in note above.
What puzzles me is that this all used to work with iOS 4.2.x flawlessly with the iPods. Now mysteriously, it no longer works in iOS 5.0.1 with the iPods. It also does not work with the new iPad 2 either.
I wonder if there's anything that I need to configure to get this working again? Also, I have checked both Apple and HP websites to ensure that the M1212nf MFP is AirPrint compatible, and it is.
So I'm not sure what may be missing?
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Hi there, el3phant
I'm sorry for the delayed response on this issue. What I would try first is refreshing the devices' connections with these steps:
1. Unplug the router, the printer, and turn off the iPad/iPods in that order.
2. After about 1 minute, plug in the router and when it's ready, plug in the printer and turn on the iPad and iPods.
3. Try to AirPrint from each device again.
Let me know the results, please.

Hi Tim,
Thank you for your response. Sorry for the delayed reply.
So I had a chance to run by your suggestion, however, it looks like the issue is still outstanding.
Would you still have any steps that I can possibly try? Let me know if you do.
Thanks,
e13phant

Hello again e13phant,
I know you said you had some iOS devices that were on the old iOS version. Other than the newer devices/iOS updates, is there anything that's changed within your network (i.e.. a new router) since this last worked? Also, is it still giving you the "No AirPrint Printers Found" message, or is it a different one? This can help us narrow down exactly which factors are contributing to the problem.

Hi Tim,
Yes, I have changed my router.
However, if I remember correctly, it didn't work even while it was on the old router a month ago. I did not have the iPad 2 then - I only had the iPod Touches at the time. The iPod were showing the same message as it is now
As for the error messages, both the iPods and iPad show the same message. It cannot detect the printer.
I did a printout of the printer config the other day, and I wonder if there's settings within the printer I need to setup. For example, I am not sure if these two items matter or not, but I will throw them out there anyhow - the IP v6 is not turned on, and there's no Bonjour name for the printer. I have set the printer to sharing. Your thoughts?
Thanks for continuing to help with me on this.

Thanks for the update.
What is the brand and model of your router? Also, on the printer config sheet, what firmware version does it show for the printer? If it's anything other than "20120206", then follow this link and select your computer's operating system from the dropdown menu, then select "Firmware" and run the update before trying to print again.
Let me know if that update works, or if you're already using that firmware version. Also, once I have the router information, I'll do some research and let you know what I find out.

Hi Tim,
So the router is a Cisco DPC3825.
As for the firmware, I do not have the 20120206 version you mentioned. On the configurations sheet I just printed out, it shows the following items that has anything to do with firmware/software:
Firmware datecode: 20110826
Software driver version: 20091203
I am assuming that the it is the firmware datecode you are referring to.
In any case, I did follow the link that you sent me and it was the same link that I used to download the "latest" firmware for my M1212nf. Incidentally, I am not sure if your server is underdoing regular maintenance at this time of the night, but I clicked on the firmware update link again to try to download it and it says that link is not available or has moved.
It's not a big deal in that it looks like I have already downloaded the same driver that's listed on that download page.
In summary, if it's the 20120206 version that I need, can you send a valid link where I track this down? I believe that it's most likely that I do not have the necessary firmware which is causing the issue. If I think about it, this all used to work when it was on a version on the same 20110826 or lower along with the iOS 4.2.x on my iPods - I'd think that a supposedly huge upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 will most likely require a reciprocal "big" upgrade to the firmware as well to understand the new features from iOS 5.0.1
Anyhow, let me know what you can find into this. Also, let me know if you have the link to the latest 20120206 firmware.
I do appreciate your help on this.

Thanks for the update, e13phant.
I'm sorry the link didn't work, but if you'll let me know what operating system your computer is running, I'll give you a direct link to the firmware update. This was just released on the 20th, so it may help resolve the issue.
As far as the DPC3825 is concerned, I did a little research and it seems some users have had difficulty getting it to work with the Bonjour and AirPrint protocols. Cisco is showing it to be an ISP supported product, so on top of the firmware update, I would contact your ISP to check the Bonjour and sharing protocols on the router.
I'll reply as quickly as I can with that link.
