How do I restore the e-mail for ePrint

I had to reinstall my printer and I cannot enter the old e-mail that was associated with it. That e-mail is set up with cloud print services and has been distributed to several other people to print on the printer so changining it is NOT an acceptable option. How can I change the e-mail back to the previously assigned one?

Re: How do I restore the e-mail for ePrint

Hi awlynn and welcome to the HP Consumer Printer Forums,

Unfortunately, when setting up a new/replacement printer, after flashing new firmware, or resetting your printer defaults you won't be able to use the same email address, nor can it be transferred to another printer. By removing the old address, then adding a new address to your ePrint account, the old address should be "released".

After a 6 month period, it will then be added back into the 'pool', and should be available again. This is done to help avoid mis-routed ePrint jobs to ePrint addresses that may have been released and attained by another printer.

A good work-around would be to create a new email address, but add a 01 or 02 at the end, this way you can get something very similar to what you had previously.

Re: How do I restore the e-mail for ePrint

This is an unacceptable solution. The printer was setup for people to use while out of the office. It is not acceptable to force a change in address for the printer because the time needed to develop the code is not on HP's priority list. It would be better to not have the feature at all than advertise a feature that is broken due to a company wish and not a valid technical reason.
