Add me to the list of unimpressed customers...HP really need to get their act together...I have tried all advice listed with no success and the most annoying thing is the unprofessional ignorance and discourtesy shown by HP by not offering any response, info or solution...3 weeks after the first report on their own website! .....I think kodak may be getting my business within the next few hours.

tried the semi reset procedure again and this time did not try to press print after setting up web services and instead just pressed ok and suprisingly after 30s the webservices code was printed...all now works!

Re: How to Configure Proxy Settings for HP Officejet All-In-One Printers

I just got the 8500 series printer tonight and was having problems with eprint.  I found the folowing information very useful, as it worked and I just got through sending a photo from my iphone to my printer!

Okay everyone!!!

I found this solution within this forum THAT ACTUALLY WORKS!!! It was just posted. It's called a "semi-full reset" and IT ACTUALLY WORKED!!!

Email Address for Officejet 7500-E910a

I am also having issues getting an email address for my printer.   I have no need of a proxy.   Today is the second day that I have tried.  There must be some way to identify when the HP servers are down?  I have registered and unregistered a number of times to no avail and no email address.  I can access the printer over the network and it downloaded an update the first time it connected but never prints an email address.

I bought this printer so that I would have the ePrint functionality, I guess I will return it if I can't get it to work.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: How to Configure Proxy Settings for HP Officejet All-In-One Printers

Hi,

HP Server was experiencing some service disruption issue and this prevented some users from connecting to the server.

The proxy server prompt indicate that the printer is not able to connect to the server.

The server is now working as normal and you should not see this prompt anymore.

Thank you.

Re: How to Configure Proxy Settings for HP Officejet All-In-One Printers

I have a 6500A Plus. I can print via wireless on multiple computers. I cannot get the printer's email address to print. When I press "Web Services Setup", "Printer Email Address", it says:

Connection

The printer was unable to connect to the server.

and goes on about a proxy.

I need no proxy.

Help please?

Have exactly same problem. Have been trying to get it to print an email address for over a week. Maybe we should all return them!

Re: How to Configure Proxy Settings for HP Officejet All-In-One Printers

Hi.

Perhaps you can try to set the proxy address to 0.0.0.0 and port 80?

Let me know if this works.

Thank you.

Re: How to Configure Proxy Settings for HP Officejet All-In-One Printers

Finally, after more than a week, I got my printer to assign an email address.  I did the semi-reset from the engineering menu mentioned in another thread.  It took forever to finally print from an email, though.  At first I was getting a command reject error.  Then I set my printer security to let any one print, and printed from my yahoo account instead of google.  I have found that I can print from my laptop and iPhone using the google account, but it won't work from the Quick Office application.  The one app I have that doesn't let me print using AirPrint on my phone.  Using google, I got the command reject error, using yahoo, it did not reject the email, but shows a system error, and did not print.  I can print from my laptop and work computer using the yahoo and google accounts, but have not been able to print from my iPhone with the google account, only the yahoo one.  I usually just use the google account as my default account, so I switched to using the yahoo as the default account.  I spent 4 hours (12 AM to 4 AM!) figuring this all out.

Re: How to Configure Proxy Settings for HP Officejet All-In-One Printers

I tried using 0.0.0.0:80 and the address of my router:80 and still nothing worked.  Any other suggestions?  My ISP says that I don't have a proxy that I need to be using.
