I have the HP Officejet 6500A Plus what is the concept of apps how are they used and why?

I have the HP Officejet 6500A Plus what is the concept of apps how are they used and why do I need them. I have the app for my BB Bold 9700 and I sent an email to my eprint email address and that worked great so what's up with all these apps? Is it to print more from different enviroments or different locations? Please let me know in simple terms and if there's a youtube video please post the link.

Hi,

 

apps are simple programs made by several vendows to give you some extra printing features. Could be recepis, news, weather and many more.
