My HP6700 prints fine but when I try to scan it says HP6700 not found.

I opened HP scan to scan with my HP6700 and get a error box statung that the HP Officejet 6700 is not found.

 

The printer is new and I have not tried to scan before.

I am running WIndow 7.  The printer is in wireless mode.

 

Since installing the printer I have upgraded to Windows 7 from Windows Vista.

The HOP dialog recognized this and apparently adjusted the software.

The printer prints OK.

 

What can I do.

hi there fcgiii;

 

 

Try unintalling the printer and using the Win 7 install wizard you can get it in  www.hp.com/go/tools

 

Click of this link www.hp.com/go/tools. Select and download this print and scan doctor this is a utility created by HP to assist you fix most of the problems in relation to Printing, scanning and networking the printer.  If by any change the tool does not fix your issue.

 

 

I will do my best to help you. Just share what errors the utility found. if any.
