My printer is listed, but the hp app cannot find my printer....hp office jet pro 8500a... iPad

All the other apps on my iPad can find my printer on the network. The hp ipad print Scan app cannot.

What is the exact app that you are using?  If it is not the HP Home and Biz app then it may just be the wrong app.  Please post the exact app name and I will do my best to help you.

I want to scan from my hp all in one printer scanner. VueScan allows me to scan, but the HP app will not. The home and biz app is print only. I can print from any other app to my hp printer.

Okay.  Make sure the iPad is completely up-to-date.  Next, try turning the printer and iPad off, then back on again and see if they will connect.  If that does not work, make sure the app itself is up-to-date.  If none of that helps let me know and I'll see what else there is to try.

Everything is up to date. I followed your instructions, no success. Other apps work with the printer, except for the hp app. Thanks.

Alright.  I want to make sure I have everything correct, then I want to do some research to find out exactly what can be done to get this fixed.  You have an 8500a and are trying to scan using the HP Printer Control app on an iPad.  Everything is up-to-date and has been power cycled (turned off and on), but the iPad still cannot find the 8500a to scan with using the HP Printer Control app.  Is that correct?
