Officejet 6500 AirPrint not always working

Hi Ianz,

The exact model is e710. I will adjust the channel to 11 instead of "automatic" and try this. Meanwhile, would you know how to downgrade a firmware? I believe it is just pushing the previous firmware to the device, but I can no longer download the previous version as only the last version is available on the site. Maybe you can provide me with a link?

I got an HP 6500 Plus E710n yesterday.  I couldn't make it work with Airprint.  Spent hours trying to figure out if it was the firmware, router, etc.  Very confusing.  I tried to update the firmware from the printer screen but it couldn't connect to the web site.  Also tried to update it from my HP desktop running Windows 7--the Updater couldn't "see" the printer so couldn't select anything to update.  Finally updated firmware from my MacBook Air--it worked and my Ipad and Ipad 2 and Ipod 3 all "see" the printer and print to it.  Way too much time fixing something that should have been easy.  I blame HP for whatever caused the printer not to update the firmware or the Windows 7 HP updater to not be able to see the 6500.  I'm headed to an all Apple system to reduce complexity and make the world simplier.  HP and MSFT may be the big losers with iPad and iPhone driving users to all Apple solutions.

Hi Warwiz, thx for your input. I checked the version number of the latest firmware op the HP-site and compared to mine. It is already latest unless there is a new one launched yesterday.

From what the screen on the printer tells me you cannot have both an ethernet connection and a wifi at the same time.  When you install ethernet the wifi turns off.

Stupid isnt it.  Whats the point?
