My new officejet 6700 will not enable web services. I have a good internet connection through a DSL modem/router. I have tried a wired connection and wireless connection. Nothing works. I can see the printer and the status of ink etc. at its ip address from a computer on the LAN.

I would suggest setting a static ip address and dns servers for this printer as it has resolved issues like these in the past.
Before we start, we need a network configuration page with your current connection settings. To get this, press the right arrow and go to setup. From there we want to select "Network" and then "Print Network Configuration".
After you have that, we will need to access the printers Embedded Web Server (EWS). You can do so by entering the printers IP address (from the network configuration page) into your browsers address bar and pressing enter.
Once there, press the "Network" tab at the top of the page. From there you will want to click the "IPv4" button, located on the lef-hand side of the page. It will be there for WIreless and Wired, so make sure to click the one for you however you are connected. If you do not see "IPv4", you should see "Networking", press that and then press "Network Address(IP)".
Next, you will want to click the small round button next to "Manual IP Address" and then fill in the boxes for IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway, using the information found on the network configuration page.
For the Primary or Preffered DNS Server, you will want to enter 18.104.22.168. For the Secondary or Alternate DNS Server, you will want to enter 22.214.171.124.
Click apply and when the message pops up saying that the changes have been applied, press "OK".
Press the power button on your printer, wait for it to fully power off and then press it again to power it back on.
After doing this, go ahead and try to enable Web Services again. It should work now, but if it does not, let me know and I we can try something else.

I just purchased a Officejet 6700. I am having an issue using the apps. In the apps menu I can view all the apps icons however when I want to access content or use the apps I get the following message. "The printer was unable to connect to the server. Check your internet connections and try again" I have no other issues with connection.
I have set up a static IP with DNS of 126.96.36.199 and 188.8.131.52 but problem still persists. I also tried DNS with router IP in first and blank in second but still not success. The router I use is dlink DIR 615. Any other suggestions?

I got a few question to see what's going on. Did you reboot your printer after setting a static ip? Does ePrint work? What's the firmware version on your router?
Give Kudos to say "thanks" by clicking on the white star under my name.
Click "Accept as Solution" if it solved your problem, so others can find it.
