Printing from iPhone

When I first set up my HP 5510 it printed from both PC & iPhone. Now I find I can't print from iPhone (4S). Tried emailing photo to the printer, but it was rejected as spam. Any suggestions? I would use print function from iPhone more than from PC. Regular email won't print either.

Thanks.

Re: Printing from iPhone

Hello Mimi_64,

In regards to printing from the embedded print function on the iPhone, there are some steps you might try to see if they are able to resolve your issue.

1. Clear print jobs from the printer queue on your iOS device by tapping the home button twice. The Print Center should appear on the bottom of the screen. Select Print Center and clear print  jobs by swiping your finger across each job and select 'Delete' until no more jobs are listed.

2. After clearing the printer queue, we need to completely shut off your iPhone by pressing and holding the power button on the top right corner of the device until you see "Swipe to power off" and swipe across the screen to completely power down the iPhone. Do not power the iPhone back on yet.

3. While the printer is still on, unplug the power cord from the printer, leave it unplugged for 30 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the printer. Once plugged back in the printer should power on automatically.

4. After the printer has powered back on, you may power the iPhone back on and try sending a picture or email for printing to test and see if this has resolved the issue.

In regards to sending emails to print from your iPhone, you have to make sure:

(a) There is only one email address in the "To:" field (printers email address)

(b) Remove any signature you have set to attach to the bottom of every email (such as "Sent from my iPhone")

Now you can try sending an email from your iPhone and see if it will print successfully and not reply with the "Rejected as SPAM" email.

If you have any further questions feel free to reply to this post and I will try to assist you further.

If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!

Re: Printing from iPhone

hi there

I have the same problem with my new HP 5510 & my iPhone 4. Printing from my Mac works perfect, but all printing jobs sent from my iPhone are rejected as Spam/Virus. I followed the steps which i found in this forum (only 1 adress in "to", deleted signature, tried sending in small/big/orriginal, with & without subject, restarted iPhone & printer). I just couldnt delete the printer queue, by tapping two times on my phones home-button, i just had my recently opened apps but no "print center".

can someone help me with my problem?

thanks

Re: Printing from iPhone

How frustrating for you.     Dumb question here, but have you remembered to turn on your WiFi prior to attempting a print request?   I went through a similar scenario until HELLO -- turn on the WiFi to your iPhone -- solved the issue right off.

If this doesn't help, then the help desk at HP may be able to walk you through a solution!

Good Luck!

Re: Printing from iPhone
