Would like to print emails from my DroidX to my HP printer with the HP iprint system.
HP Pro 8600 Plus all-in-one, IE8, Windows 7.

I notice you are saying iprint, which was actually an older version of the currently released android app called hp eprint home and biz. Is this the app you are currently trying to use?
As far as android printing goes that app is the best option as it will search for any document or photo files on your device, and allow you to print them either on the local network, or through eprint if you are not at home. For the eprint functionality you do have to register the app with your personal email, and then put a pin code in.
The other option is to simply send files as attachments to the eprint email address, although there can be some issues with this. The main issue is the use of signatures in most email apps. The signature is generally seen as spam and may cause the job to fail. It can also be a little more difficult to get files attached to an email.
