Savings Center Beta: Help and Support

[ Edited ]

If you see an error message when printing offers from Savings Center:

In some cases Savings Center users may experience problems printing coupons.  If you receive a Server Connection Error message when attempting to print coupons, follow the steps below to resolve that issue:

Google-print.jpg

  1. Click the PRINTERS link in the main navigation at the top of the ePrintCenter
  2. If you have more than one printer on your account, select the printer you wish to print offers on.
  3. Click the “ePrint Settings” button in the first section of the PRINTERS page.
  4. Click on the 3rd tab PRINT SERVICES in the open dialog box.
  5. Click the ON button next to “Jobs sent via Google Cloud Print will print.” Click Save.
  6. Return to the Savings Center tab and select and print your coupons.

Savings Center Beta: Help and Support

Savings Center lets you easily clip and print money-saving offers from popular categories of grocery and packaged goods, restaurants, general retail, and local services. We partner with industry leaders across the direct marketing spectrum to deliver relevant savings for HP households. You can use the Savings Center on the HP ePrintCenter website or the Savings Center print app (on supported printers) to select and print offers.

What you need to get started

To use Savings Center, you’ll need:

  • An ePrintCenter account, to which you are signed in
  • An ePrint-enabled, HP web-connected printer added to the account, with an active Internet connection

No additional software is required. All you do is set your preferences, clip offers, and print!

What is an HP web-connected printer, and why is one required?

An “HP web-connected” printer is an HP printer with ePrint enabled, added to your ePrintCenter account, and having an active connection to the Internet. HP web-connected printers can be connected directly to the Internet, without a computer connection. You must have an HP web-connected printer in order to print clipped offers.

An HP web-connected printer is required to ensure secure delivery of printed offers from our Savings Center partners.

The Savings Center Print App

A Savings Center Print App is available for supported HP web-connected printers that allow you to add and manage Print Apps on HP ePrintCenter (some printers require you to add and manage Print Apps from the printer display). Look in the Apps section on HP ePrintCenter for the Savings Center app. If you don’t see the Savings Center app in the App section, the app is not yet available on your device.

List of printers currently supported by the Savings Center print app:

PrinterMinimum FW Version
Photosmart 5510 B111a-g,jAll
Photosmart 5510d B111a,j,hAll
Photosmart 6510 Series B211a,b,eAll

Officejet Pro 8500 A910All
Officejet Pro 8500 A910All
Officejet Pro 8500 A910All
Officejet Pro 8600 N911a,d,g,h,nAll
Officejet 6500 E710n-zCIP1FN1035PR
Officejet 7500 E910EMP1FN1035PR
Officejet 6500 E710a-fSYM2FN1035PR

To use the Savings Center Print App:

  • Select the app and print an offer sheet showing offers currently available in your area.
  • Print the offer sheet, and select offers you are interested in by filling in selection bubbles with a pen or pencil.
  • Scan the completed offer sheet on your printer to confirm the selections, and print out the offers you selected.

The Print App offers sheet will include offers based on the information you add to your preferences on the Savings Center website.

Using Savings Center for the First Time

To use Savings Center, you’ll need:

  • An ePrintCenter account, to which you are signed in
  • An ePrint-enabled, HP web-connected printer added to the account, with an active Internet connection

The following steps will give you the best Savings Center experience:

1. If you do not yet have an ePrintCenter account, create one, and add your ePrint-enabled, web-connected printer to the account.

Note: Make sure that your ePrint-enabled printer has an active Internet connection.

2. Sign in to ePrintCenter, and click the Savings tab at the top of the ePrintCenter website. You can click the Savings tab to access Savings Center at any time when you’re on the ePrintCenter website.

3. Enter your zip code, and click Go.

The “Manage Your Preferences” page appears. This page allows you to enter preferences for a new account, or change existing preferences.  The preference information will greatly increase the relevance of offers displayed in your stream. You can always update your preferences later.

Your preferences are used for both the Savings Center web site and the Savings Center Print app.

4. Click Continue to update your preferences and start saving.

A page containing Categories of interest options appears.

5. Beneath the category headings for your interests, click the Heart icon to indicate a category that interests you, and the “Thumbs Down” icon to indicate categories you’re not interested in.

6. Click Continue.

The page expands to allow you to provide preferences based on your household.

7.  Make selections to reflect your household, and click Continue.

The page expands, displaying a privacy notice. This notice explains that the actions you take on Savings Center are used to provide you with offers targeted specifically to meet your personal preferences.

8. Review the Privacy Notice and click View Your Offers if you are ready to continue.

To stop and not enter Savings Center, close the browser window, or select Printers or Apps at the top of the page to navigate out of Savings Center without enabling your Savings Center account.

When you click “View Your Offers”, Savings Center looks for all the available offers in your area, and displays the most relevant offers based on your preferences.

9. Click Clip on offers you want to print, and skip on the ones you don’t.

10. Click Print Clipped Offers in the lower right corner of any page to print your currently clipped offers.

11. Start saving!

The Benefits of Setting Your Personal Preferences

The first time you visit the Savings Center on ePrintCenter, you’ll be asked to enter your zip code and identify your categories of interest and household preferences.

Savings Center uses your preferences and the offer selections you make as you use the site to make your personalized offer stream even more efficient, showing not just the offers redeemable in your area, but those targeted to your personal preferences. And you can update your preferences at any time – including your zip code, if you move to a different location – to change or further refine offer browsing.

Personalization Based on Your Actions

To help display offers that are most relevant to you and to improve your experience, Savings Center uses information about offers that you clip, skip, and print. The types and categories of offers that you have clipped and printed are prioritized higher, while the types and categories of offers you have skipped are prioritized lower in your stream.

The Savings Center Page Layout

The Savings Center webpage contains the following areas:

  • A Featured offer – appears at the top of the page.
  • Your preferences dashboard – located above the offers in both the Stream or Grid view, displays:

Your ZIP code, used to locate local offers.

Icons representing your offer preferences. These selections affect the order in which offers are displayed in the stream.

An “Update Your Preferences” button that allows you to change your preferences at any time.

  • The offers display – appears in the center of the page, in either a Stream view or a Grid view. For information about these views, see “Finding offers on the Savings Center web site”.
  • Your savings scoreboard – Located at the bottom of the page, beneath the offers, the scoreboard shows:

¨  A summary of your savings, year-to-date.

¨  How many offers you have selected to print, and a link that gives you access to your clipped offers

¨  A button to print your printed offers.

The dashboard and scoreboard contain the same information in both the Stream and Grid views.

Ways in Which You Can Find Offers

You can search for offers by using the features of the Savings Center web site, or by using the Savings Center Print app.

Finding offers on the Savings Center web site

There are two ways to view offers on the Savings Center web site:

  • The Stream View – displays offers in a one-at-a-time scrolling view that includes offers redeemable in your area and targeted to your preferences. This is the default view.
  • The Grid View – displays all available offers in rows and columns.

You can select the view you prefer by clicking the View buttons located above the offers.

The left button displays the Stream view, and the right button displays the Grid view.

You can also use filters and sorting to further target your offer browsing in both views.

  • The View Categories drop-down menu – located at the upper left of the page, allows you to filter the display of offers by Type (All, Local, National, and Clipped) and Category (e.g., Automotive, Arts & Entertainment, Books and Magazines, etc.).
  • Sort By options – located in the upper right of the page, allow you to sort offers by relevance, by showing newer options first, and by the date on which options will expire.
Finding offers using the Savings Center Print app

If you have the Savings Center Print app added to your web-connected printer, you can print your personalized stream as an offer sheet. Then you simply fill in the bubbles for the offers you want to print, scan in the offer sheet, and your selected offers will print.

Using the Stream View

Once you’ve specified your ZIP code and have made selections in Preferences, the Stream view appears, showing offers redeemable in your area and targeted to your preferences.

In the Stream view, one offer is focused on at a time. When you Clip or Skip an offer, that offer moves to the left, and the offer to its right moves to the center. New offers appear to the right. You can also click on the next offer to the right, to move it to the center.

To move forward and backward within the offer stream, use the navigation arrows at the lower left of the stream.

Using the Grid View

The Grid view displays all available offers in rows and columns, with the newest offers shown first. To view additional offers, use your browser’s scrollbar. When you reach the bottom of the page, click “Show More Offers” to extend the page.

Displaying Additional Details About an Offer

If the descriptive text on an offer ends in ellipsis (…), move the cursor over the text to read the full description.

You can display additional details for an offer, including:

  • Offer Preferences – your preferences (Like/Not Interested) for the offer and its related categories
  • Offer Details – such as the offer’s expiration date, retail address, etc.

To display additional details for an offer in the Stream view:

Click the magnifying glass icon that appears at the top of the offer.

To display additional details for an offer in the Grid view:

Move the cursor over the offer, and click the magnifying glass icon that appears above the offer.

Clipping and Unclipping Offers

To clip or unclip an offer in the Stream view:

On the currently displayed offer, click the Clip or Unclip icon above the offer.

-or-

On offers to the left or right of the currently displayed offer, click anywhere on the offer.

You can also click the magnifying glass above the offer to show details, and then click “Clip” or “Unclip” in the details window that appears.

To clip or unclip an offer in the Grid View:

   Click anywhere on the offer.

-or-

Move the cursor over the offer and click the Clip or Unclip button that appears at the lower right of the offer.

You can also move the cursor over the offer, click the magnifying glass that appears above the offer, and click “Clip” or “Unclip” in the details window that appears.

Indicating You’re Not Interested in an Offer or Type of Offer

To indicate that you aren’t interested in an offer, or a type of offer:

Do one of the following:

 - In the Stream view, click the Thumbs Down button at the top of the offer.

 -  In the Grid view, move the cursor over the offer and click on the Thumbs Down icon that appears at the top of the offer.

If you like, click Give Detailed Feedback to provide more details to Savings Center about why you don’t like the offer, and then click Update your preferences.

In the future Savings Center will give a lower ranking to offers similar to this offer.

Managing Clipped Offers

Viewing clipped offers

To view the offers that you have clipped:

Click the View Clipped Offers link at the bottom of the page.

Removing clipped offers that are no longer available

Offers that you have clipped may become unavailable either because they have expired before being printed, or because the offer provider has removed them.

To remove unavailable offers, or offers you no longer want to print:

Click View Clipped Offers at the bottom of the page.

Offers that are no longer available are listed before those that are still redeemable.

Make selections to :

  • Remove all unavailable offers
  • Enable automatic removal of unavailable offers

Note:    If you do not remove unavailable offers, they will continue to accumulate in your clipped Offers. To avoid accumulation of older unavailable offers, those that have been unavailable for four months are automatically removed by Savings Center, without any action on your part.

Removing clipped offers you no longer want to print

 - Click View Clipped Offers at the bottom of the page.

Your clipped offers are displayed.

 - Move the cursor over an offer you would like to remove, and click the Remove button that appears.

Printing Offers

Printing your Clipped Offers

To print your clipped offers without reviewing them first:

 - Click Print Clipped offers at the bottom right of the offers page, in either the Stream or Grid view.

To review your clipped offers before printing:

 - Click View Clipped Offers at the bottom of the offers page, in either the Stream or Grid view.

Click Print Clipped Offers.

A page appears, showing:

  • The number of offers you have selected to print.
  • The estimated number of printed pages.

The sizes of offers in their redeemable form vary, and can’t be determined until the offers are retrieved for printing. Therefore, the actual number of pages to be printed can only be estimated before printing.

  • The selected printer. There is also an option to change the printer.

Note:    For security reasons, previews of offers in their redeemable form cannot be shown.

Click Send to Printer.

Your clipped offers are sent to your web-connected printer.

A page appears, indicating that the offers were sent. In this page, you can choose to clear the printed offers from your clipped offers. Offers that are cleared from your clipped offers may still appear in the Streaming view or Grid view if they remain valid and are highly ranked in the stream, or if they meet your filtering criteria.

This page also allows you to see how much you’ve saved so far this week, and in the preceding eight weeks. Just hover over each of the week indicators to see your savings for that week.  A summary beneath the weekly graph shows how many offers you’ve printed, and the grand total of your savings.

Note:    If you have problems printing, you can reprint offers only once. Be sure to fix any printing problems before attempting to print a second time. Once printed, offers are marked as printed, and may no longer be available when you browse offers, depending on requirements from our Savings Center partners.

Printing in Black and White

If you want to print your offers in black and white, you can change your ePrint email settings to print in black and white.  NOTE:  This will print all ePrint documents in black and white, including those you send via email to your printer.  If you only want to print your offers in black and white, change the setting, print the offers, and then change the setting back to color.

Seeing How Much You’ve Saved

The Savings Scoreboard at the bottom left of the Savings Center offer page shows your total savings, year-to-date.

When you print offers, a page appears telling you that the offers were successfully sent to your web-connected printer. This page also allows you to see how much you’ve saved so far this week, and in the preceding eight weeks. Just hover over each of the week indicators to see your savings for that week.  A summary beneath the weekly graph shows how many offers you’ve printed, and the grand total of your savings.

Troubleshooting

I don’t see my web-connected printer on the printer selection page

  • Check that you have added your ePrint-enabled printer to your ePrintCenter account.
  • Check that the printer is on.
  • Check that your ePrint-enabled printer has an active Internet connection.
  • Check ePrintCenter for errors with your printer or connection.
  • Check that your router and network are functioning properly.

How can I reprint an offer when there was a problem printing?

If there was a problem printing your offers, you can reprint them once.

When offers have been successfully sent to your printer, a page appears, indicating that the offer was sent. On that page is the question “Was there trouble with your print?”. If there was a problem, and you’d like to reprint the offers:

  • Fix the problem on your printer that was causing the problem.
  • Click the text Was there trouble with your print?.A page appears that allows you to reprint your offers.
  • Click Reprint offers.

After reprinting your offers, this option will no longer be available.

How can I reprint an offer if it has been lost or damaged?

If the offer provider allows multiple prints of an offer, you can use the filters on the All Available Offers page to locate the offer and print it again. If the offer provider does not allow multiple prints, you will not be able to find the offer to print again in the future.

Why are my offers (from the web site or the print app offer sheet) no longer available?

Offers may be removed because:

  • They have passed their expiration date.
  • They have been removed by the partner providing the offer, and are no longer available.
  • They have been marked as “printed” and the partner providing the offer does not allow multiple prints.

Problems printing

If you have problems printing your clipped offers:

  • Be sure you are signed in to your ePrintCenter account.
  • Check that you have added your ePrint-enabled printer to your ePrintCenter account.
  • Check that your ePrint-enabled printer has an active Internet connection.

ePrintCenter sends your clipped offers to your web-connected printer, but does not provide any messages if there are problems printing. If you encounter problems printing offers, manage the issue from the control panel of your printer, where appropriate messages will appear.

Why was an offer blank or missing when I printed my clipped offers?

There is a rare possibility that in the seconds or minutes between your clipping an offer and then printing it, the partner providing the offer may have removed the offer, making it no longer available.

Why does the webpage from which I print offers only provide an estimate of the number of pages that will be printed?

The actual sizes of offers in their redeemable form vary, and can’t be determined until they are retrieved for printing. Therefore, the actual number of pages to be printed can only be estimated before printing.

Why can’t I see full-size previews of the offers I’ve selected for printing?

To keep providing you with high quality offers, we must prevent others from cheating by making copies from a full-sized preview of the redeemable offer.

Who should I contact if I have a problem redeeming a coupon?

Contact the coupon provider directly to resolve redemption issues. The name of the coupon provider is printed on each coupon. Providers may include:

  • Coupon Clipper
  • Coupons.com
  • Moneymailer

Contact information for these providers is shown below.  When you contact the provider, include: 1) A description of the coupon you tried to use, 2) The retail location where you tried to use it, and 3) Why you were told the coupon could not be accepted.

If the coupon provider printed on your coupon is not listed above, you can go to the web site for that provider to contact their customer service/support

The Offers page is not displaying properly

Some browser ad-blocker extensions or add-ons may prevent the Offers page from displaying properly.  If you encounter this issue, disable any ad-blocker extensions on your browser, restart your browser, and try again.

  • In Firefox, from the Tools choose Add-ons
  • In Chrome, from the Tools menu, choose Extensions.
  • In Safari, from the Safari menu, choose Preferences, and then select Security.

In Internet Explorer, from the Tools menu, choose Manage Add-ons.

Where can I find additional troubleshooting information and support?

You can post a message in the HP Support Forums, or contact support from the HP ePrintCenter on the Help page.

Re: Savings Center Beta: Help and Support

The coupons are sent to the printer from other providers via googles free service called google cloud print, which is why that must be enabled.
