This is turning into a farce.

 

I have contacted HP via their email support form - and are being told that HP does only support the printer - and I need to contact ePrintcenter as well as the provider of the specific app to get support!!!!!!!!!!!

 

So, yesterday I filed a new supportrequest - now following the frontpage of ePrintcenter to the support-form (which is exactly the same that I used earlier on).

 

It will be interesting if HP Support still claims that "someone else" should support ePrintecenter....

 

Better Business Bureau or maybe Ombudsmanden if they keep on not being serious?

I have now contacted Google Docs - since HP still claims that HP arent responsible for third party apps.

Let us know if there is something that can do as well. I suppose the more people at Google or HP know about this the better chance of someone seeing it to help resolve it.

I think it could be usefull to collect links to other cases on the same issue - so we can show that it is massive and not just 4 persons problem ;-)

I did some network-analysis, and it is quite interesting.

 

The printer only communicates with the server cache-lb-sbs.austin.hp.com throughout the whole session.

 

The traffic itself is encrypted with SSL RSA 1024 - so I cant debug what is wrong.

 

Funny thing that ALL Traffic between printer and "the interrnet" goes to this server.

Both when I try toscan & upload document (which fails) - BUT ALSO when I browse the documents stored in my Google Docs.

 

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT KNOWLEDGE - part of the error MUST be on a server controlled by HP - so it bothers me quite a lot that HP states that they are not responsible for providing a solution.....

By the way - I tested with adding the Box digital storage app.

 

That works without any problems :-(

 

So, the issue seems clearly to be isolated to the integration between HP   ePrintcenter and Google Docs :-(

Google has done some user-interface changes lately seemingly to better integrate their services (mail, docs, +, etc.). Some of that must be tied to more back-end changes for the same purpose (better integration).

 

This may be, at the very least, part of the problem.

 

Lets see what G-docs has to say about the issue.
