Re: Unable to get Printer Email Address

I am trying to set up my new HP Envy...all is great until I try to Print Report for the email address.

I followed the steps in this post, including Restoring to Factory Defaults, and I still can't get the ePrint Instruction page, it just says it will take a moment, then it switches over to the home screen after 30 sec.

What else am I missing?  It shouldn't be this hard should it...

Re: Unable to get Printer Email Address

[ Edited ]

Just bought 6500A. Same issue as has been described on this forum for what seems to be hundreds of times. Tried all solutions found, still no connection. Will try again tomorrow. But this seems to be a major snafu on HP's part.

That said, everything else seems to be working fine. Network connection is great, I can print from my iPad and desktop. No other issues.

UPDATE

Ok, I finally got ePrint to give me an email address. I used the manually assign an IP Address solution described by PrintApper on this forum under "ePrint - Not Connected Error" subject line posted 11-12-2010 04:03PM.

I set an IP, turned printer off and back on after 30 seconds. Went to print email address under Web Services and still got the "Cannot connect to server error" message. But about a minute later, the printer started printing the Welcome to ePrint page with my printer's address on it. I printed from my BlackBerry and it works!

Clearly this ePrint problem needs a more work from the folks at HP. This ePrint idea is fantastic and obviously a lot of effort and money has already gone into making it happen. That said, if customers have to spend the amount of time they are currently spending to get the feature to work, that unfortunately takes the excitement out of the innovation...

Re: Unable to get Printer Email Address

If assigning manual IP to the printer still displays the same error "Cannot connect to network", try adding the DNS addresses in the printers EWS page and see if it works or not.

Been pulling my hair out for days reading all the gloom and doom about getting my HP Officejet Pro 8500 to ePrint.

The solution posted by noxqcez was THE solution.....and it was the simplest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for doing what evidently HP could not.

It just should not be that hard to take something out of the box and get it to work.

I grew up on DOS 2.0.  Things were not this hard!!

Re: Unable to get Printer Email Address

I followed the solution posted by noxqcez and IT WORKED on my  HP C410

Having recent back to factory settings twice - that did nt work

But the added unplug for 30 seconds seemed to resurrect  it into life and the eprint email address printed out.

Thank you

Delay from RedintonHP color Laserjet CP1525N caseID is3518974 and the database ID is 8052118550

Hi Hp Team,

This is to inform you that the HP color Laserjet   CP 1525N  printer which we have sold to M/S Ratnakar Bank and which is under warranty has the problem to print through Microsoft Power Point.(You get Colour Bands while printing MS power point files all other files print correctly)

In this regard we had lodged the complaint with Redington India (Worli) . The case ID is 3518974 and the database ID is 8052118550.

After inspecting the above printer Redington India had sent another printer on 18th July 2011 but unfortunately even that

printer also had the same problem, which Redington India service engineer is aware of.

When we contacted Redington India ----Worli office on 61555205/61555222 Mr. Mangesh always promised us that he will be sending engineer to resolve the problem but till today the call is open without proper solution, and both the printers

( The printer which M/S Ratnakar Bank has purchased & the replacement printer )are laying idle with the client.

Hence you are requested to escalate the matter with HP India so the client can get the solution at the earliest.

Thnx & Regards,

Service Support Team

Re: Unable to get Printer Email Address

The solution for me, as suggested by Praveen, was to be sure all the printer's IP address info appeared.  I used manual entry but accepted the info that was suggested in each of the three blanks.  Connection to web services occurred instantly, even without resetting defaults and without powering down.  Thanks to all.
