Re: Web Services not responding - HP Envy 100 D410

I too have the same problem. When trying to connect to internet I'm given a message cannot connect. I printed out a wireless network test result page and everything is said to be fine.It says,  No problems found. Congratulations on the successful setup of your wireless printer. Little does it know. How do I get this fixed?

Re: Web Services not responding - HP Envy 100 D410

I have just purchased this printer 410a and have this issue.  I am techie savvy (CIsco and MS Eng) and have my printer on wireless with firewall disabled on my router and internet access from all pc's and able to ping eprint servers etc.  Whatever I try, Enabling web services etc,  just get the Problem connecting to Web services server.

OK, so after reading this I checked FW and mine in SLM1CN1030AR and the latest from this forum is SLM1CN1039

AR.  So I want to upgrade but can't do this on the printer, as it thinks its not connected to the internet.  when I try and force the product update it says turn on the connect to internet setting in the web menu.  I guess this is the Enable web services option which just reports the problem again.  Catch 22.

Can I upgrade firmware any other way then direct from the printer.

Any other ways of getting the product to think its online to download the updates.

Any other ideas or advice?

Thanks

Clive

Hi Clivep078

I understand that you're having problems gettiing your printer to connect to web services.  I would try steps below.

1. Obtain your printer's IP address

a. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.

2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.

3. Select the network tab at the top of the page.

4. On the left select networking.

5. Select Network Address (IP)

6. Select Manual DNS Server

a. Manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8

b. Alternate DNS Server should read. 8.8.4.4

7. Select apply you might get a warning just select okay.

Let me know how it goes.

Re: Web Services not responding - HP Envy 100 D410

I have done this and it makes no difference.  DNS is fine.

My firmware is SLM1CN1030AR which seems old compared to some versions people have updated to and solved the problem.  But how could I update if I can't connect.

Thanks

Re: Web Services not responding - HP Envy 100 D410

Go the exact same problem. Even tried looking for a firmware update that could be applied via USB in either a Windows or Mac machine, no cigar.

Seriously, who thought of this wifi-only Firmware update system?

Re: Web Services not responding - HP Envy 100 D410

I phoned HP and they said Web services had been down for a couple of weeks !  I really can't believe that and its either a fob off or a terrible situation for HP.  I also want / need to update firmware but without web services connecting can't get any updates.  Catch 22 and screwed. Last time I buy HP.
