Why can't my blackberry print direct to my printer

Hi new here so here we go,

I have a HP officejet 6500a plus I download the HP eprint APP from blackberry website can you tell me why I can't print directly to my own printer?

I can print to it if I email printer address but I should have to if I'm sitting next to it, also all the mobile printing stores are in the USA and it be a long way to go to pick them up from  the UK.

Hey 10blad!

The ePrint mobile app is used to be able to print to public printer locations, not to your own personal printer. I know this can be confusing because of the name of the app but the easiest way to print from a blackberry is via the printer's email address. What I recommend is that you set the printer's email address up as a contact which will allow you to easily access it when you need to print.

Tried that but continue to get a "General Failure" message.  HP ePrint tech support says Blackberry codes forwarded e-mails so that it doesn't relfect my correct e-mail (which is set up with my printer to receive e-mails), thus getting rejected.

Also tried sending it via wireless network. Despite sitting right next to my printer, Blackberry searches for the nearest FedEx Kinkos. Not a big deal as I was only trying out all the alleged features of printer.

Installed HPePrint app on phone.  You should see all the negative reviews.  So I'm not the only one flummoxed by all this new "technology."

Just bought a 6510 and downloaded the eprint app so can print by effectively emailing the printer. 

This seems an oversight that there isn't an app to print direct to the printer from Blackberry? Particularly in the wireless age and Apple users can do so? Are there any plans for such an app, or is this something that will be developed in conjunction with Blackberry?
