Re: ePrint - Not Connected error

OK well set static IP as suggested.  Stayed connected a couple of dayts and now not connected again.  If can't get this fixed I'm going to need to return the printer.  I mean come on - remote printing app, but have to be at printer to be able to get it connected since it unpredictably gets "not connected" every day or two.  Renders the eprint function almost completely useless.  Also, I hardly consider this issue "resolved" as HP site seems to suggest.

Re: ePrint - Not Connected error

I am having a very similar issue with four CM4540 MFP printers in a business environment. I set up ePrint to create a way for onsite iPod and iPhone users to print wirelessly as the model in question did not support airprint. It works great for the purpose, however, during the past two weeks since implementation, two of the printers have spontaneously dropped (turned off) the HP Web Services including ePrint. Each time I had to re-establish ePrint on the printer and acquire an entirely new ePrint email address. The chief issue is actually with the inability to re-acquire the same address: for consistency with the users and in inhouse documentation for the users.

Is there any way I can at least reacquire the same address instead of creating a new one?

Re: ePrint - Not Connected error

Am having the same issue thta the printer works fine when first connected to the ePrint, but after a few times, it is "Not Connected" according to ePrint.  The only solution that ever works is getting a new ePrint address.  Defeats the whole purpose of buying this machine if I have to keep getting new ePrint addresses.  It never works when needed and the documents that were printed to that ePrint address are lost!  I'm getting really frustrated with this app!  Seems to be a waste of my time!

Re: ePrint - Not Connected error

Unfortunately, there is no way to reacquire the same address immediately, but it is released and available after approximately six months.  Does turning the printer off and back on not allow it to reconnect to ePrintCenter?

In your circumstance, I would install the HP ePrint Home & Biz App.  This will allow printing over your local network and does support a lot of "legacy" printers as well.  The app is available for the iPad and iPhone from the App Store.

If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided.

Re: ePrint - Not Connected error

Hi TGS_Stalls,

It should not be necessary to remove and re-enable Web Services repeatedly.  How often does it lose connectivity?  Does powering the printer off and back on not re-establish the connection?

Re: ePrint - Not Connected error

This problem is not resolved, and it is a major one. In the world of online devices my printer promoted to have the features of e-print cannot connect to servers. This is simply unbelievable. It shouldn't be my problem to keep the printer connected. I have 8 devices at home that are connected to the internet and download or upload gigabytes of data and have no connectivity problems. The printer should be able to do a much simpler job (just tell the server that it is there). I always prefer HP for good cutomer care but this time I am very unsatisfied.

Re: ePrint - Not Connected error

This is very frustrating. I read through all 47 pages of this forum, and have tried many of the suggestions, to no avail. I truly hope that HP is working on this problem. I have never been able to get the printer to connect with the website. When I'm at home on my network, no problem. But I bought this B210e, for its ability to print from anywhere. This problem defeats the whole point. Please fix it!

Re: ePrint - Not Connected error

The problems described in this thread match my problems exactly.

Any lawyers following this thread.  I'm thinking it may be time for a class action lawsuit against HP.  They have continued to advertise that they have ePrint, but we have 47 pages of users who are experiencing problems.  Meanwhile, it seems HP likes to continually placate callers for support that the servers have been down.

Re: ePrint - Not Connected error

My printer keeps showing up as Not Connected in the ePrintCenter but does print. This however it a pain as I'm not sure if I can rely on the fact that it keeps on printing in future use.
