Re: ePrinter HP Photosmart Premium C309 needs help with iPad

I'm thinking that HP would find a solution (maybe to patching or changing drivers,...)  ...?

Yep, not working for me either!

It'd be great if you guys could update the drivers so that we can print to this printer from the iPad

Thanks a bunch for everyone else's comments

Hi Tarheels71

HP iPrint app is not designed to print emails. It is used to print photos which are saved in your iPad.

Refer to the link below for more info:

http://www.hp.com/global/us/en/consumer/digital_photography/free/software/iprint-photo.html

For Windows and Symbian smart phones:

Re: ePrinter HP Photosmart Premium C309 needs help with iPad

I spoke with an HP employee close to this technology. He was adament that the C309g-m does not and will not support Airprint (the printer firmware is not flash upgradable). I also purchased this printer and then realized I must either purchase a different model, or install one of the various Windows Airprint Proxy solutions that are available, and require the computer to be turned on. The alternative to a  Windows proxy is to use a cloud printing solution like the Cortado workplace from the Apple app store. It is free, but your print job must go out to the web for print driver rendering and then back to the printer via your iPxxxx device. The C309g-m driver is not available at this time, but perhaps a similar driver might work.  The Cortado solution is flexible to work with any printer than can be discovered through the bonjour protocol, and for which Cortado has placed the print driver on their site. To date there are hundreds of print models supported. You will have to decide if the confidentiality of this cloud print approach is acceptable to you.

[ Edited ]

hp told me  that the 309g can not be updated to eprint but if it is able to upload pics to snapfish then it should take a s/w update such as eprint.

Hi,

I am afraid to inform you that your Printer that is HP Photosmart Premium C309 does not have ePrint Option. It seems this Printer has launched before ePrint Technology released.

Re: ePrinter HP Photosmart Premium C309 needs help with iPad

If you have a Mac, install the free AirPrint activator application. This allows you to print from an iPhone or iPad, via Airprint, to a shared HP 309g-m.

This method has the disadvantage that Airprint only works when your Mac is switched on, but otherwise I've found it to be a seamless solution.
