Re: efax question for photosmart 7510

For the login invalid message with eFax on the HP 7510, what fixed it for me was doing a factory reset. Go to the "Wrench" icon on the top right of the home screen -> Tools -> Restore Factory Defaults -> Click on "Yes, Restore Factory Defaults". After the printer reports that the restore was successful, sign into eFax again and you should be able to sign in with success. Hope it works for you, good luck to all those that bought this "wonderful" printer.

Re: efax question for photosmart 7510

I have had the same issues with efax.  This seems like a scam.  Has anyone actually gotten this to work?

I havent tried the factory reset option yet. as I dont want to lose all my other settings. But ill have to try it.

Two of the main reasons I bought this printer over the Lexmark or Canon were the eFax and Airprint.  Neither work.

Re: efax question for photosmart 7510

THANK YOU!!! I'm so glad I found this forum. This worked like a charm. It looks like it has to do an update (really quick) once you register and it works perfectly!!!! I don't know why they don't just include this in the instructions. It looks like everyone has this problem, I set up my mom's last week and I was having the same problem but I just gave up. THANK YOU AGAIN!

Re: efax question for photosmart 7510

I am having a major headache with efax.

Firstly there was all the wrong password/ failure to recognize messages that other people have had, and after setting up 2 new accounts and resetting the printer to factory defaults it all SEEMS OK.... except it does not send faxes!

Maybe it works with US 10 digit numbers, but trying to send a fax to 2 known, open, functioning numbers in the Netherlands and UK I get either a failure or a constant 'busy, re-trying'. As the message was that the fax had gone to efax's servers, the assumption is that the issue is at their end (and the fact that there is no 'out box' only 'sent' is not especially helpful in checking this).

My first email to them got a 1 line response - 'talk to hp'.  Undaunted I have now signed up for their plus service to see if that improves anything. Well, it does improve the client service. The next message was 'you should not have upgraded. Talk to hp' (!)

Fair enough. Thing is, I bought a printer in good faith that it could send faxes. Which is something I need to do. And since I bought the thing in the Netherlands I naturally assumed it could send faxes there as well (I am using the country code without prefix and no leading '0' as per the instructions).

Anyone got any ideas before I go to HP and ask for my money back?

Re: efax question for photosmart 7510

From my understanding, Free eFax does not work internationally if that is what you are having problems with.  I know it may even say sent successfully but it is not going to work.  You could receive eFaxes but it is the sending that will fail (limited to the 11 digit phone number - ex. Sending Recipient: 1-555-555-5555).  Also, your router may have something to do with it since there is an Arris router (US/Comcast) that has a defect.  Now that you purchased the eFax Plus, log into efax.com and setup your HP ePrint email as the receiving email and you should have no problems printing received faxes, however you may have better luck sending them from efax.com versus sending international faxes from the printer.  I tried to find a website either at HP or eFax validating this information but I could only find information about the Arris brand router flaw with eFaxes not sending.  People with this router can receive but they can not send.  I hope this helps you!

Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

When a solution is found please mark the post that solves your issue. I work for HP.

Re: efax question for photosmart 7510

Thanks for this, but the printer is dutch spec and sold in the Netherlands with fax sending capability - there is a clear statement that efax can send faxes internationally. What I simply cannot figure out is whether the fault I have is an HP issue or an efax one....
